Valter Walker has reacted to how calmly his fellow Brazilian Renato Moicano handled his controversial TKO loss to Tom Nolan at UFC Vegas 123, which happened due to a questionable referee intervention.

Renato Moicano Was TKO’d By Tom Nolan, With Dan Miragliotta’s Assist

This past weekend, on Halloween night, Moicano faced Nolan in the main event of the aforementioned Fight Night at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas, where the Brazilian fought strategically and avoided any extraordinary moves.

Instead of standing and banging with a young gun like Nolan, Moicano chose to take the fight to the mat and use his grappling advantage. With that approach, he comfortably won the opening round.

Moicano continued to dominate Nolan in the second round using the same strategy. The Brazilian landed 55 strikes after taking Nolan’s back for almost three minutes. However, referee Dan Miragliotta suddenly stood both fighters up, bringing the grappling exchange to an end, and Money lost position.

What happened next was difficult to watch for Moicano’s fans. The Brazilian struggled in the striking department and was badly hurt by Nolan.

In the third round, Moicano eventually suffered a TKO loss.

Surprisingly, Moicano did not complain after the loss. He accepted the defeat gracefully and even commended Nolan for his performance.

In the aftermath, Renato Moicano told MMA Fighting that the controversial standup caused him to lose focus, but he does not blame the referee. Instead, the 37-year-old admitted that he should have finished Nolan when he had the opportunity and vowed to improve in his future fights.

Many want Moicano to appeal the controversial stand-up. Although he has finally admitted to feeling disappointed and frustrated with how things unfolded at UFC Vegas 123, Moicano has confirmed that he will not appeal the result and has already moved on, while still having a few choice words for the referee.

Reacting to Moicano’s decision to move on and his badass approach to the controversial defeat, Valter Walker took to X to share his thoughts. The heavyweight heel-hook specialist wrote:

“A legend with some serious fu**ing guts… Instead of whining about the officiating, which is total sh*t, you just gotta keep moving forward. Absolute beast.” [Translated via Google]
