Aleks Emelianenko Out, Big Daddy In for Affliction
The Affliction weigh-ins at the Honda Center in Anaheim offered a few surprises today. For one, Donald Trump showed up “straight from the golf course” and said that the event was sold out and that pay-per-view buys were through the roof. For another, the Aleksander Emelianenko-Paul Buentello bout was scrapped when Emelianenko “didn’t meet CSAC licensing standards.”
That could mean a lot of different things, but right now it mostly means that Aleks is out and “Big Daddy” Gary Goodridge, who was hanging around before the weigh-ins started, is Buentello’s new opponent. Buentello could be seen in the original MMA Rated video expressing his frustration and confusion right after the weigh-ins.
