Dillon Danis Reveals Encouraging Signs About Conor McGregor’s UFC Return – “He’s Focused”
Brazilian jiu-jitsu phenom Dillon Danis has provided a positive update about Conor McGregor.
As per Danis, his longtime friend and former training partner is doing all the right things to get his knee healed so that he can return to the octagon one final time.
Earlier this year, McGregor returned to the octagon after 5 years at UFC 329 to run it back with Max Holloway. However, come fight night, his comeback plans were ruined when he tried to land a wild flying kick, landed awkwardly, and tore his ACL and meniscus in the opening minute of the fight.
McGregor could not stand or put pressure on his lead leg. He kept falling to the ground, so Ref. Mike Beltran decided to stop the bout after 69 seconds, and Holloway won by TKO.
A few weeks after the bout, “The Notorious” went under the knife to get his ACL and meniscus repaired. The former UFC double champion expects to be fully recovered before International Fight Week 2027 and has said that he will return on IFW again to lock horns with Holloway a third time.
Now, Danis has provided a positive update on McGregor.
Dillon Danis Confident Conor McGregor Will Return Again
Dillon Danis told MMA Fighting that after UFC 329, “The Notorious” was in a “dark place” but is now dialed in and doing all the right things by isolating himself in Los Angeles, where he is recovering and rehabbing.
“He [Conor McGregor] was in a dark place… Now his head’s a lot better… He’s isolated himself in L.A. doing all the right things for his knee, and he’s focused on coming back.”
Danis also added that he’s confident Conor McGregor will make a successful return this time, as the Irishman has always fulfilled whatever he has promised to himself.

McGregor has one final fight left on his UFC contract and probably won’t re-sign with the promotion. He would most likely pursue a few boxing super fights in the years to come once he is a free agent, or fight in the BKFC, which he partially owns.
